Business Manager's Message

Brothers
and Sisters,
It is a great honor and privilege to
represent this great IBEW Local Union 558. It is a challenge I don't take
lightly and carry the weight of responsibility with dignity and pride. It takes
all members working collectively to make our Brotherhood a positive force. I
challenge all members to actively support the IBEW and all of its interests. I
also would like to thank our great staff for their active perseverance and
endearing fight for equality and fairness in an ever-changing Industry. Local
Union 558 has a diverse number of classifications so it is never a time to let
our guard down or waiver the rights of working men or women. It is always a
challenge against immense odds.
I am
pleased to finally be able to present this web-site to the entire body. It is
my hope to assist each and every member of IBEW-558 with the information on our
new website. The NECA-IBEW Health and Welfare Trust fund, the NEBF pension, IBEW-PBF
pension and the Southern Electrical Retirement Funds are now at your
fingertips. The long hours and relentless days spent on the job make our
days-off and time at home a premium. I have wanted to bring a one-stop shop to
help mitigate time spent searching. There are FAQ's that may expediate your
search for the correct answer to your question. A great member is a well-
informed member. We will be amending to be more worker friendly as the
situation arises. Have a look and see what you think.
Work at the present time is better
than it has been in several years. We must remain diligent and continue to
secure more Union work and gain market share. The opportunity is upon us now
and what we do moving forward will be a direct reflection of our actions.
Building community support, COE on the job, and organizing the unrepresented
worker. United we stand, divided we fall. All we have to sell is skilled labor and
knowledge in our respective classification so producing a quality product is
our goal. We are the best at what we do
and show it daily.
Our
opposing forces are always trying to divide our path forward because it is hard
for logic to prevail over emotion. Keep our vision on the future and we will
conquer our goals, change our industry for the better, and prosper from the
rewards while making IBEW-558 bigger and better. I wish each and every member
prosperity, safety, and a happy life. In
solidarity and Brother/Sisterhood!
Respectfully,
Darrell Miller-BM/FS
